In April, faculty, staff, and leadership from the UW MBA Consortium came together to launch a comprehensive review of the program structure and curriculum. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and ensuring that our students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Today’s prospective MBA students have more choices than ever, with a wide range of programs tailored to different needs and aspirations. As student expectations and employer demands evolve, we’re taking a close look at how the UW MBA Consortium can continue to stand out and deliver exceptional value by providing a curriculum that is relevant, contemporary, and vibrant for our students.
During the workshop, we reviewed feedback from students, as well as alumni and faculty, to explore different learning competencies the program may consider adding or strengthening. Some of the competency areas that were prioritized by these stakeholder groups included communication, decision-making, and analytical thinking. We also reflected on student feedback to leverage the strengths of our program, including flexibility and course design, and explored areas where we can improve, including accelerated time to degree and specialized degree programs.
This summer, program leadership will continue to work on market analysis and program review to determine what our future strategic positioning and value propositions will be. By focusing on innovation, collaboration, and personalization, we’re building on our existing strengths while exploring new opportunities to evolve the program. Our goal is to ensure the UW MBA Consortium not only meets today’s standards but is also well-positioned to anticipate and respond to the needs of tomorrow.
