Kranti (Kran) Dugar has received the 2024 University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium Outstanding Faculty award. Instructors who taught in the previous academic year are eligible for this distinction. The award winner is determined based on student nominations following each term in the previous academic year.

Kran Dugar with Award

Dugar, associate professor of marketing at UW-Eau Claire, has been teaching MBA 703 – Developing New Products and Services for the UW MBA Consortium since Fall 2022. Accepting this award, he had the following to say:

Itadakimasu (pronounced: ‘ee-tah-dah-key-mas’). This Japanese phrase, which means, ‘I humbly receive,’ is not just a phrase kids in Japan learn before they partake in a meal; it is, in my mind, an analogy for the UW MBA Consortium, which is like a meal where the hungry of mind congregate and partake, gratefully learning from each other. Before I pick up my chopsticks with humility, I bow my head, fold my hands, and put on record all the Consortium stakeholders who selflessly, generously, and expertly contribute to this meal. Before I take the first bite, I tip my hat to all Consortium instructors and especially my MBA 703 co-instructors, who inspire me and keep me grounded, along with Paula Lentz, the program’s academic director. This meal is ours. Above all, I want to acknowledge our conscientious and hard-working students, for whom this meal is prepared in the first place. Now, let’s eat!”

Students appreciated Dugar’s detailed announcements and grading, noting that he invests a lot of time and energy in his students and class. One student called him one of the most intelligent people they have ever met.

In addition to Dugar, the UW MBA Consortium also recognized Pang Kou Khang and Bill Miller as finalists for the 2024 Outstanding Faculty award. Pang Kou serves as the program’s advisor and teaches MBA 700 – Defining your Plan for Success: The MBA Mindset. Miller, professor of accounting at UW-Eau Claire, teaches MBA 763 – Business and Ethics.

We congratulate these faculty and thank them for their efforts in making their courses, and therefore the UW MBA Consortium program, one of the best online MBA programs in the nation.
