WCET developed the guidelines used by many accrediting bodies. The University of Wisconsin - MBA Consortium is a member of WCET and follows its distance learning guidelines.
Is your faculty trained to teach online?
Not all online programs have faculty who are specialy trained to teach online. The faculty in our online MBA program must pass our program-specific four-week preparation course prior to teaching online.
How large are your online classes?
Teaching online is very labor intensive. While some programs have unlimited enrollment and use assistants to support faculty, we strive to keep our classes between 25-30 students.
Does your online MBA program offer electives?
Not all online MBA programs offer choices for courses. We believe that the old adage "one size fits all" doesn't work in education. Students have different needs, and you should select coursework that best fulfills your needs. Our online MBA program has 26 required credits and 10 credits of electives in a wide variety of topics.
What is the total cost of your online MBA program?
Be sure you're comparing apples to apples when shopping around for an online MBA program. Our online MBA program charges a $825 per credit rate with textbooks/course materials as the only additional cost. Is your online MBA program accredited by AACSB International?
Most universities are accredited at some level. Less than 5% of the world's 13,000 business programs have earned AACSB Accreditation. Accreditation at this level means the program meets a prescribed standard for course content and faculty qualifications. All three universities in the University of Wisconsin - MBA Consortium have AACSB accreditation.
