Hawkes is Recipient of UW MBA Consortium Outstanding Student Award

Posted: May 1st, 2008

Sheryl L. Hawkes is the 2008 University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium Outstanding Student. She will be recognized May 17, 2008 at the MBA Celebration Reception following commencement.

A native of New Zealand, Hawkes has a PhD in biological sciences from the University of Auckland, Auckland, NZ. She came to the United States ten years ago to work as a manager and researcher for the Barbara Davis Center in Denver CO. She later moved to Idaho where she worked first for Boise State University as a manager, lecturer and researcher, then later as a management assistant for Sapidyne Instruments, a high-tech manufacturer of instruments that measure the affinity and kinetics of biological interactions. While in Idaho, Hawkes began the UW Consortium MBA online program, having selected the program for its quality and its flexibility -- she knew she was moving to Maryland.

Currently, Hawkes lives in Westminster, MD, where she is the managing director of a small marketing research consultancy. She is married and the mother of 3-year-old twins.
